Great so far

I just installed the power supply. All cables were clearly labled and very easily to install. My systems only been running for a short time with the new power supply. But it is very quiet so far.
The documentation was clear but brief. But it was so simple to install, little documentation is needed.
I'm very happy with this purchase so far. I'll update this review if I find any issues.
Update - 18 months later the power supply is still going strong and quiet |
Stable voltages, very quiet, solid construction

This is quite simply the best PSU I've ever bought. Its voltages are within closer tolerances to specs than any other I've tried, even under load. It can supply 50A on 3x 12v rails which easily supports multi-GPU installations. And it's so quiet. Only if all the other fans are off can I hear this unit's fan. Its construction is very sturdy.
One really neat feature is the fact that one only inserts the power cables one actually needs. So instead of having a huge harness of unused wires as is usually the case, I just have the wires I use. That makes for better air circulation and a neater box.

If $$ is not your primary concern when building your system, this is absolutely the highest quality power supply you can buy. Build is rock solid, 120mm fan is quite and does and excellent job of keeping the supply cool under heavy load (i.e. duel SLI setup).
Even the large supply of cables comes with their own little pouch to keep things together. |
Whisper quiet

Before this power supply I was using an Enermax Liberty ELT620AWT 620W ATX 12V V2.2 Power Supply. It was pretty good. Very consistent, quiet, powerful, modular... Pretty much all I was looking for in a PSU.
But after this upgrade/downgrade (I consider it an upgrade despite losing 100W of power because for my use-case, I benefit more out of the new Corsair)... Anyway, I thought it was a great buy! The power supply is NOTICEABLY quieter than my prior PSU. It's so quiet that I can hear my CPU fan from about 3 feet away... Time to upgrade that now, but all in all I'm very happy with it...
One thing that I would improve though, are the modular cables. They aren't the woven kind that come with other PSUs, they're just plastic cables... a little disappointing when you're paying over $100 for these units. |
Seems quite good

I recently built and overclocked my PC, and decided that I'd use this PSU for the task. A lot of focus is usually placed on the other components of a PC, but the PSU also needs some attention because without it, you aren't going anywhere. A worse case scenario is that a bad PSU could potentially damage the other parts in your machine.
After reading all the reviews and doing some additional research, I picked up this PSU. The size seems standard, and I'm happy that it isn't long since I have a fan mounted to the top of my PC case (NZXT Lexa Redline). It also has a modular design with clearly labeled cables. One of the best things about this PSU is that the power cables can be removed. Which means that you don't have to have a bunch of extra cables sittig around in your PC. As a result, when building my PC, the cables were the last things to go in since I was given this flexibility.
Overall, my machine isn't dead silent, but its very quiet. I know that the small 80mm fan makes the most noise and I have 4 other 120mm fans, not including the fan on the PSU. Most times my apartment tends to be so quiet that you can hear a pin drop. I've also left this PC up and running 24/7 ever since it was built.
Since this was my first time building a PC, the one thing that I found difficult to determine was whether the PSU would be enough. There are so many mixed reviews out there as to how much power you should have. However, I can definitely say that this PSU suites my needs. I've provided my PC specs as an estimate for those with a similar setup.
