Diamond Multimedia (Best Data) has an F rating on the BBB site!!!

Be forewarned that if you buy anything from Diamond Multimedia aka Best Data Products you will be purchasing an item from a company that has an F rating on the Better Business Bureau site! If you don't want customer support, or are confident that the video card will be not go bad during the 'warranty' then this should not concern you. If however you expect a company to deliver customer service, or return items during the warranty period then I strongly advise staying away from Diamond Multimedia!
I bought this same card at a local store, and right off the bat it had issues with the display drivers suddenly stopped working. This turned the monitors to solid colors and required a hard boot in order to restore the pc. No updated drivers from ATI fixed the issue. I opened my first support ticket with Diamond three MONTHS ago! They never responded to that ticket or the four other tickets I put in. I don't have the opportunity to call them during their bankers hours but finally tried that in the past week. No answer after being on hold for a total of 50+ minutes!! It should be no surprise that the 'F' rating on the BBB site is from, you guessed lack of responses from the company! What a poor excuse of a company!
About the card, the card is nice but keep in mind that other companies make this same card. This card version by Diamond is an older version as well. Newer versions have an artic cooling fan to replace the boxed looked of the old cards. I would be happy if the card worked. As it happens I have learned an expensive lesson to never buy anything from Diamond Multimedia again!
PS I've also read that Diamond requires you to pay for shipping BOTH ways when you RMA an item! I've never heard of a company being that cheap! Of course, I have no way to confirm this as they dont answer the phone, their emails, or live chat! What else can I do but file another BBB complaint? |
